Im trying to connect the dots here on why Aokiji joined the Blackbeard pirates. It looks like he does what Blackbeard tells him to do but we dont know what really the outcome of his choices in the end, but you know deep down there’s a 100% chance of Aokiji betraying Blackbeard in the future and the reason is probably to make Luffy the pirate king simple as that!
To be able to understand why Aokiji wants Luffy to be the pirate king we gotta go back to the past… so here it is
1. Aokiji knows the Strawhats pirates are good people. He encountered the strawhats before in sense he probably knew that there’s no pirates like the strawhats and in this encounter he knew the strawhats personality probably with the help of some kind of advance observation haki just like Coby, Fujitora possesed. Or it jusr a very good obsevation skills but I like it to be a haki more because it seems like haki could actually connect to people like chakra that Naruto once said in Boruto.
2. Aokiji warns Rob Lucci - when Rob Lucci hit Luffy with his final attack and he still standing Lucci remembers what Aokiji told him, that is one of the proof that he knows Luffy really well. One more factor how is probably Smoker, or since he was an admiral he knew the real story of the tales of luffy saving people and kingdom.
Probably Aokiji is one of the people that knew what Luffy’s real dream. And does making Aokiji would do everything he can to make it happen because for him that title is only fit for Luffy
