Spy seems like a pretty pointless role to have. Robin has decades of experience as a spy, saboteur and assassin. All those years of experience has rarely come in useful for the Straw Hats. Hell, the one arc that they should have needed a spy for in Whole Cake Island is the one arc that Robin was specifically excluded from.
