He should just be with shinobu in wano mainland. Orochi goons might be on his tail because kanjuro leaks the information, but then again it's still a safer move rather than just bringing him on the enemy lair. Shinobu is a ninja, she should be able to shake off the goons, especially since the big fighters are all on onigashima. Storywise, it doesn't make sense to bring him momo to onigashima.

Because he was kidnapped by Kanjuro. He wasn’t meant to go to Onigashima when the plan looked like it had failed.

Had the plan worked he would probably have stayed behind on the Sunny or something with Shinobu watching him.

And we went with them in the first place because he’s going to be the Shogun of Wano and needs to step up and show his men he can be relied on in his own rights, not just as Oden’s son.
