General & Others Why did the Wano anime fall off in Quality like this

Wtf are you talking about?

Zoro has had a metric fuck ton of great animation on Onigashima lol. They even gave him extra scenes of him doing stuff like being the one to send Big Mum off the cliff that weren't in the manga. Zoro got as good as any character on the rooftop in 1017, and even the highlights for much weaker episodes like 1016 and 1018 were specifically Zoro related.

Like, even the animator who did Hells Memories two episodes ago, he literally was the same guy who animated the Asura scene.(even though the compositing for that one was bad, the aura is much nicer in the original genga, btw, this is a bit out of order)
Its just that this portion doesn't focus on him as much.

Even so, its likely the next few episodes will be the production heating up for the final episodes of Sanji and Zoro's battle.
In episode 1016, Onigiri was simply copied, but this is forgivable, since the moment is insignificant. But the tatsumaki in 1018 is disappointing, given that we have a much better example: https://media.tenor.com/r98XqvgJg-AAAAAM/zoro-dragon.gif
And then the same "Animation" was inserted into episode 1058.
Hakai was also ruined by the toei, despite the fact that in one episode with the hakai there is a beautiful animation of Chopper vs Queen from Ota and an animation of the Red Hawk from Luffy from Shida. And the hakai seemed to be given a no-name

As for ashura, I agree, it has a good animation, provided that it is unfinished, as Yen Bm says. However, a huge yellow aura spoils everything, while the very quality of the aura also leaves much to be desired, because there are also better examples https://media.tenor.com/S0HSXOdbDdMAAAAM/onigiri-1080p.gif

It wasn't copied though? Yes, it was referenced, but it was mostly original stuff.

(its funny you use that tatsumaki scene since it was animated by Katsumi Ishizuka).

Honestly, the build up for the Tatsumaki was fine, but the actual attack was very lacklustre.

The Hakai was mostly fine. It was still a well animated scene, it just wasn't the most notable scene in the episode and there were some questionable colour choices. Otherwise, it was pretty well done.

As for Ishizuki: I rewatched some of his animations and I was quite wrong about him, I just didn't like Tougen Totsuka specifically, and I'm afraid that KOH will just copy that animation

About zoro his been great in the anime but the last episode tatsumaki was ass against kaido was better but I want to believe this because they are extending his fight and last episode was that horrible because they focused on other things so I have hope

Meanwhile: One Piece wins an award for best ongoing anime series.

Fans coping on every low moment of the anime lol
This is just bullshit and anyone with two functioning eyes and a brain knows it.

Ofc it wins, bc the series itself has by far the most fans.

The anime adaptation is just beyond terrible if you look at it objectively though.

I mean I love the manga and think it's very good overall, despite some problems recently, but the anime ... dear God, let's stop talking about it.

Take Demon Slayer for example: The manga original is nothing special at all. The anime adaptation is on another level though. Miles ahead of the One Piece anime (yeah, I know it's seasonal, but OP still being a dinosaur anime is not their fault).

Like seriously, try watching five Demon Slayer episodes and then turn on the One Piece anime: You'll switch off the TV in minutes, because OP's artwork, animation and pacing is that bad in comparison. It's almost unwatchable after enjoying some proper anime right before.

I can see your arguments. If it is about "elevating the manga experience" then One Piece is far too inconsistent with it. Demon Slayer is a different thing, ufotable is an all out studio. We are living in an era where once in a while "next level" shit appears in all branches.

For what it is, One Piece surpassed all other long running series or the broad average, animationwise it is.
Also normal seasonal animes have "lows", sometimes the budget is limited and they keep it for the opener episodes/finishing episodes.

But yeah, there is a huge competition in "elevating" the manga with the anime, some shows succeed and I think this is the main focus point on One Piece. It can "elevate" the experience of a few scenes once in a while.

I for myself, I don't care about getting an elevated experience. My experience is already elevated since I watch the anime together with a non reader. So we enjoy together. We bite through the lows, just to reach the next peak.

I'm not liking the Anime too much tbh.

I appreciate that they have a great budget now, but are going overbord with the special effects. A lot of it's unnecessary overkill just thrown in to "impress". I also hate the pace/flow. They leave out too much and add too little.
