General & Others Why do people defend bad writing

#1
I am asking why do people defend bad writing if it panders to their biases?

Like how Luffy fans defended Zoro not visiting Ryuma's grave or Zoro fans defending the latest chapter.

Why do people defend bad writing? Doesn't it hurt the series and the credibility of the franchise as a whole?

When did One Piece fans become Naruto fans where bad writing is ok for agenda purposes?

There is a lot of bad writing in this series.

A serious Shanks one shotting Kidd with a named attack is not a good example of this.

Even current Zoro would be able to overpower current Kidd's attack with ACOC.

Kidd's haki is just nowhere near good enough to compete with top tiers.

Now you can argue all this haki nonsense has made this series very stale in terms of fights and I wouldn't necessarily disagree.

We're talking about details here that doesn't affect the plot at all. Nothing wrong happened his the last chapters that was bad aside from a slow pacing which has been Oda's trademark since he started OP. Who said Zoro didn't visit Ryuma's grave, does it have to be on panel? It's not like he is going to do something special there.
There are critics that can be made but you didn't list any imo

for me i am a pretty patient person i would only call it bad writing if oda never shows us zoro at ryuma grave just because i have expectations anf want it sooner than later (in wano arc), doesn't mean if oda does not cover them right then and there that he is a bad writer... what was wrong with last chapter from a zoro fans perspective ???

Because most people don't rate Kidd at all.
Oda himself done a poor doing that.

Meanwhile, Shanks is heavy fan favorite.

Combine the two you get people either support or indifferent for what happened last chapter.

People are more sympathetic to Kidd fans than Kidd himself

People have different personalities.

Some people leans toward feelings, some towards thinking/logic.

People who leans more on feelings will have bias confirmation.

Look bro I like Kidd but a character you like losing a fight is not bad writing

Bruh who the heck defended Zoro for not visiting Ryuma’s grave?? :luffywat:

I don’t know who these Luffy fans are but I’m not like them. That’s just obviously rushed writing. :lusalty:
