I always thought that Morgans wanted Luffy to be the Pirate King during WCI, but why did he change his motives and decided to turn the world against him now?

With the news that Luffy killed Vegapunk, the world will support the world government more than ever now and will make Luffy’s journey to the pirate king more difficult than the other Yonko

But Morgan’s doesn’t want chaos, he wants people to keep reading his paper and the world already is terrified of pirates, as such he’s using that fear to sell his news since none of his claims can be substantiated slandering the WG and marines who most the world sees as the good guys is a quick way to lose readership

Apart from making up stuff to sell more, Worgan like most people doesn't give a crap about Legapunk and they see Fluffy as a notorious pirate so no-one cares about him killing the old man. It's like Sabo killing Cobra.

What oda does with Silhouettes, useless cliffhangers, purposely extending and stretching out the story to match some numbers etc etc is basically what Morgans does with the WEJ.
