We saw the problem of Rokushiki on panel, when Sanji was escaping WCI and Oda introduced an entire battalion of a Yonko crew proclaiming that actually it’s very easy to use Geppo
I’m sure Oda thought this was a cool thing when he first wrote it, the implication that Certain rokushiki techniques are standard abilities among even fodder Yonko crews
the gotcha of course was that WCI was written as the arc where the Strawhats COULD NOT defeat a Yonko crew. So it’s fine if Oda gives Yonko fodder busted abilities, they aren’t supposed to lose.
A problem arises when Wano starts and this time THE YONKO ARE SUPPOSED TO LOSE.
suddenly it’s a bad thing if the Yonko fodder have such mastery of busted abilities. For example we are supposed to believe that the entire Big mom crew cannot climb a waterfall for several days YET THE FODDER IN BIG MOM’ CREW CAN USE GEPPO
See the problem? Oda basically had to ignore that the big mom pirates can obviously climb the waterfall very easily with Geppo simply so that the story can happen.
As usual the explanation for why any character doesn’t use any ability you expect he should use is simple, Oda wants the story to go a certain way so he ignores the ability.
for example both Luffy and Loki forgot to use AdvCoC on Sommers in this recent chapter simply because Oda wants Sommers around for something else in the arc later on
