Sanjino never understood Zeff.

- He didn't understood that Zeff didn't saved his life to claim eternal debt.
- He didn't understood Zeff's "not hitting women" rule was about disciplining his own cooks not about beating enemies.
- He didn't understood that Zeff was real pirate who literally rob men & women for their valuable when they met.
- He didn't understood Zeff saved him because they shared dream so abandoning his dreams to repay Zeff was retarded.
- He didn't understood what Zeff valued the most, men's conviction! Not cooking nor pussy...

You think Zeff is OK with hitting women outside the kitchen? Sanji lived with Zeff for years and the one time we see their conversation on-panel regarding women, Zeff makes clear it's an ancient rule in his opinion since the time of dinosaurs that men simply shouldn't harm women and that he'll castrate Sanji if he hits a woman.

Sanji didn't misinterpret anything, people simply think they have a better grasp on Zeff's pretty clear words than Sanji who was raised by Zeff. The very first instance when Sanji not hitting women is made significant, he quite literally says "I can't, it's just how I was raised" but people think Zeff was kidding or something regarding how he raised Sanji.

He literally says he would have failed as a parent if Sanji is a failure of a man. Zeff even says that he doesn't mind if Sanji's a failure of a person but he won't let him be a failure of a man because he, Zeff, is Sanji's parent and will ensure he has those values instilled in him. I'm tired of people distorting Zeff's words to bash Sanji (there's plenty of other stuff to use that aren't as ridiculous), Zeff was quite clear about Sanji not hitting women, people are just forgetting panels.

I won't bother too much with the rest of the thread since it's mostly trolling. Stuff like Zeff not wanting to restrain Sanji but Sanji sticking around is a result of Sanji feeling he owes Zeff, it's a response to Sanji's experience with Zeff, I don't really get how him sticking around to prove himself to Zeff is stupid. It's a man wanting to protect the person who saved his life and to be acknowledge by them. Zeff definitely cares about cooking, he even opened a restaurant to feed starving people. Not to mention after his and Sanji's shared experience at sea, almost dying from starvation and malnourishment and Zeff losing a leg, he makes his desire to open a restaurant a reality.

Overall, there's tons of legitimate reasons to criticise Sanji but these don't really seem all that reasonable.
