Blackbeard wants Moriah to join, but Moriah is the man who didnt join Kaido after he got crushed. He opted at running away. So I dont see Moriah joining or running away. He either gets killed or captured. BB doesnt seem like the type to just keep someone for no reason. Your gonna either gonna serve a purpose for him…..or your fruit will. When BB imagined Burgess having the Mera fruit, he said it will be like Ace joining his crew. So if Moriah dont join, then someone else will have it and it will be like Moriah joining his crew.
Of course Oda may just make BB stupid and capture Moriah for no reason. Then Moriah may have later interactions with Luffy and become his ally. Thats very Oda like tbh. But then again, Oda did kill off Absaldom….whats stopping him from doing it to Moriah. If Oda kills off Moriah, I could see Perona coming back and allying with the SHs to take down BB. Her broken powers will make her the new Tama/Brulee of the arc.
But anyways assuming so that BB did kill Moriah, I see that Burgess will be the obvious choice for his fruit. BB is supporting Burgess’s hunt for a great DF and wanted him to have Ace’s fruit. Which is a pretty big deal tbh since thats the fruit that was rivalling his Yami fruit. Burgess also seems like the only member without a fruit yet. So if anyone is gonna get it….itll probably be Burgess.
Plus Burgess’s name is also Jesus. And Jesus raises the dead and such. Makes people come back to life, Oda may draw symbolisms with that.
Now how would the Kage Fruit benefit a brawler like Burgess, who doesnt rely on minions help in a fight.
