I think he's related to Rocks pirates and that's why he's part of the arc

my bet he's the son of captain john like many theorised, he mentioned he wanted to retrieve something that belongs to him in WCI, Captain john is known to have a big treasure collection, so it's possible he wanted to take back his father treasure

Never heard about captain John theory (sounds interesting), but he should have recognized Luffy's bracelet back in Sabaody if this was true, don't you think?

Captain john and Kid are pirates that who existed in real life, and John was Kid father

idk maybe he don't know about every piece of treasure john had, and know only about the most important one

Regarding the flashback imo it will happen mid-Kaido fight or end of war, giving a real sense and motivation to what Kidd and Killer did till now (and will do in the future)

After the war. Oda has made obvious connections between Kid and Shanks. Kid kills people who laughs at his dream while Shanks taught Luffy not to. It’s almost like Kid never grew up with a role model. Shanks took Kids arm while he gave his arm to protect Luffy. The parallels are obvious here. Kid will be very relevant post Wano because of his connection to Shanks and will probably get his flashback in whatever arc focuses on Shanks.

I thought about this as the most possible, but imo Oda should show something before they leave Wano and don't postpone to the next story arc. At least some hints.
All Kidd journey in the NW and his motivations have been pretty mysterious until now.

Let's not make the arc longer with useless flashbacks.
We didn't have a flashback for Capone just some infos about his past and that was more than enough. We had informations about Kidd's past, what else is there to learn?

Probably earlier but we don't know if Kidd v Kaido will even occur again.. so maybe post fight in that case.

There are just too many things Oda needs to roll and Kidd is not a priority for now I believe.

But their clash (the first one) is meritorious of a flashback overall.

But in this arc, Kidd and Killer have nothing to do with Kaido, a flashback isn't necessary.

I think he will fight a strong folk that will make him occupied but Zoro and Luffy are more likely to fight Kaido to me, same for Law.

Of course we don't know... it's not possible to really predict these match ups for now. Maybe Kidd will do something too, but I don't see him portrayed to play a big role as for now.

He's the most near to Kaido alongside Luffy, Jimbe and Killer. Is full of rage and his partner suffered the same fate of the people of Ebisu. It's hinted that his other crewmates (Heat Wire) have been imprisoned for some time. Imo there's no way for him to have a secondary role. He has better reasons than Law, for example.
