It is a swordsman technique, one that Zoro naturally discovered before he even got trained by the grandmaster.

I imagine if Mihawk ever saw Asura he would not be phased at all by it, he might even have his own variant(KoH too, even Shanks has a flaming sword), this would make Zoro have to pull out way more powerful form/technique

Ashura is gonna remain an unexplainable Zoro specific thing so that it can be what let’s Zoro beat mihawk, because Mihawk himself won’t know what to do with it
