Will we find out that just like his former captain that shanks from this time on has only 1 year to live and on borrowed time?

This will explain why he warned the gorosei about a certain pirate just in case he doesn't make it out in time and die from an illness.

Is Shanks really just waiting for Luffy to meet him and later on plan to wage a huge war against BB and basically suicide because he is dying anyways?

Nothing indicates him to ever a disease. Roger never had heart attack while fighting. That was Whitebeard disease from aging.

The illness trope has been already used, his illness will probably be BB when the time comes. Now he will look good with Kidd who will gift him his road poneglyphs and that is it, his bad times will come later probably EoS.
