Powers & Abilities Without fruit canceling, the Yami Yami no Mi is kinda trash

1) Slow gravity that can only attract.
Compared to Fujitora’s omni-directional (push, pull, lift, etc) high speed gravity that can almost instantly reach space, Blackbeard’s gravity sucks.

2) No logia intangibility.
So automatically less OP than other logias. You don’t even need haki to fight the fruit user.

3) Double damage/pain
This fucking sucks. As if not having intangibility wasn’t bad enough.

Am I the only one who thinks this fruit is solely carried by its canceling/nullifying ability?

Nah. Blackbeard’s warlord animal is the Hippo which has 3 stomachs.

It’s confirmed that Blackbeard’s body is “different” for some reason.

And it’s confirmed that the Hippo is his warlord animal like how Doffy’s is a flamingo and Boa’s is a snake. And Hippo’s have 3 stomachs.

Clearly BB’s body somehow let’s him eat more fruits. It’s not clear if the Yami plays a role.

In that case yes,the DF is top notch for nullifyng other DFs but also has a lot of downs

Teach said he only joined the WB pirates to get his hands on this DF, it's the quest of his life. So It'll be kinda lame if the Yami-Yami is not that special.
I'm expecting it to have some OP awakening by negating other DF abilities within a range, some tech like Shambles..
If we follow the pattern:
Gura-Gura: offense.
Yami-Yami: utility & control.
Zoan if he eats one: Defense & durability.

It's still top tier

The fruit canceling is so strong tho. Like yeah the Yami Yami isn’t the best fruit for most people, but for teach it’s perfect since his body is insanely sturdy he can take the amplified damage

The difference is that Blackbeard's fruit actually conveys a more disparate set of abilities whereas Marco and Luffy's fruit's are very basic.

Thus it makes sense to question his arsenal/abilities in the absence of one.

But it's good as it is anw. It can't be too powerful, much less in the hand of the guy who has the Quake Quake fruit as well.

After haki introduction Yami Yami no Mi is one of the most useless DF.

It is only good against Kizaru, Kaido and Marco I would say because Kizaru has the most overpowered DF, Kaido has the toughest and Marco has the harder to deal with.
