The HKs are said to be immortal. However we have one and only one example of a HK aging. Garling.
If he had immortality in God Valley, why is he old now?
What if he didn’t age naturally. We know Shinobu’s DF can permanently age people. What if Xebec had Shinobu’s powers?
Garling fought him, got bested, and was aged into an old man.
Ultimately, I think this would be a deadly power in the hands of someone evil like Xebec. He could mass murder people by decaying them, like Shigaraki Tomura in MHA. This could explain why he was so dangerous and why Garp and Roger were willing to ally to defeat him.
Also maybe Xebec used an advanced decay technique to give Roger his terminal illness.
Externally, Roger didn’t look aged. But what if the fight with Xebec aged his organs, ultimately leading to his early death?
