let's begin , definition of Sunacchi
"Sunacchi" is an abbreviation for a phrase translating to "Throw Away Your Name and Wits"
Now we can clearly see that this definition is EXTREMELY important , it's specifically related to Shimotsuki Ushimaru line while being imprisoned by Kaido
yamato asks : who are you?
Ushimaru : "I'm NOBODY important", also translated as "I'm So and So" by the official
Also in Zoro's flashback (Zoro vs King) during Zoro's realization of the true nature of cursed blades
we can see that this fated word "Sunacchi" is once again slapped in our faces
Also remember how the Kaido fight started?
Now we know that this word IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and it's significance in relation to Zoro still hasn't been shown.Oda went OUT OF HIS WAY to tell us that Zoro NEVER USED Sunacchi
Now let's think about the sentence : "throw away your name and wits", THIS SENTENCE IS NOT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY , why?
well , in the same chapter that the scabbards charged Kaido and screamed Sunacchi is ALSO the same chapter where Momo DECLARES HIS NAME IN FRONTO OF KAIDO , wich it would SEEM that this is the exact opposite of sunacchi but it's really not.
BASICALLY this is the equivalent of a Zen Buddhist principle :
Zen Buddhism shows that there is no antithesis of self and “no-self.” Paradoxically, the true nature of self becomes known only by inquiring, doubting, and negating self.
It's also interesting to note that Momo never screamed Sunacchi yet , why? well i think that it's pretty obvious
Before you throw away your name you need to define yourself , it's the zen buddhist paradox i just mentioned , before he negates himself he has to FIRST define himself.
Let's now move this concept to the scabbards and finally to Zoro :
So we have defined a 2 step process
1) define yourself
2) negate yourself
how did the scabbards defined themselves? they declared multiple times that they want to die to avenge Oden , i think this is exactly why their Sunacchi battle cry was WEAK , their definition of themselves was already a negation , THEY DEFINED THEMSELVES IN DEATH JUST LIKE KAIDO WHO IS FAITHED TO FAIL JUST LIKE THE SCABBARDS
So the first step is KEY to have a successfull second step , THE STRONGER IS YOUR DEFINITION OF SELF , THE MORE POWERFUL IT IS TO THROW IT ALL AWAY
i bet this last sentence triggered a bell in zoro fans :
Zoro who had the grandest ambition of all the straw hats threw it all away
So my point is :
1) Zoro WILL USE SUNACCHI 100% against Kaido : the fight started with a failed sunacchi but will end with a succesfull sunacchi
i also think that the recoil will kill Zoro as well , but that's for another Zoro wank thread.
