I think if you listen to him in interviews, the GoT season 8 controversy destroyed all confidence he had in himself as a writer. GoT Season 8 I think did a lot of things that Martin pictured for the end of the books (Dany becoming evil for example), but the show did them so horribly and the backlash really made Martin lose all confidence in himself.

Dumb and Dumber deserve to be sent to the Hague for not adapting the fAegon plotline (as well as all the other deviations they made from Feast/Dance)

They rushed GoT to do Star Wars and then they lost Star Wars. Lol

But yeah it truly is a damn shame. I maintain GRRM isn’t finishing AOIAF.

I find it interesting the fact when you look at the previous yonko you have a scale of 3 to 1 and the same when you look to the new ones 3 to 1. What scale? 3 ex rocks affiliated pirates to 1 roger and now the contrary. If we want to be super precise is 2 to 1 to 1 as luffy is not directly associated with roger he resembles him in some aspects. It's an interesting ratio.
