Whitebeard saying to Teach he is not the man Roger awaits for doesn't make sense. Like Teach doesn't care about Roger, his legacy is Xebec, to avenge him, not perpetuate his archenemy's

Yeah but Ooda didn't have Xebec in mind at the time. He has a lot of new ideas that he incorporates in the story. Some are better than others. Xebec is one of the good things he came up with recently.

When did Teach say he wants revenge for Xebec? Canonically, he did in fact look up to Whitebeard, per his own words

And Teach does indeed want to get the OP and reach Laughtale, which is why Whitebeard said that Teach wasn't the man Roger was waiting for. Teach believes he is.

Ngl, having Xebec get into Imu's room thinking random ass kings would have him step down, use PIS to have the entire Gorosei and HK ignore the fact that he found out about Imu and let him go, even though they killed Cobra just for seeing him is maybe one of the dumbest things Oda has written in years.

Now we have no way of knowing if Pudding and Ulti don't know about Imu(since Xebec could have told BM/Kaido, etc)

Sabo also knows and he's alive and they’re not going after him. Xebec is just that strong, they can't fight him and is crew head on on his territory. It's easy to kill a fodder like Cobra.

That's the catch though; Xebec did suspect the plan would fail; he had an ulterior motive to be there.

Yeah, but Sabo ran away from the Gorosei and did get hit by Gunko. He also found out a couple days in verse, Xebec knew for a coupled decades.
