He's a great character. Garp/Ray/Roger/Xebec are probably my favs out of the oldies right now after this flashback. Love his interactions with Harald and the whole dynamic between their relationship, though it's clear a lot of context is still missing from between the two.

Replying to old post of yours. I had Xebec below Garp/Roger. But Xebec weaker than peak Newgate/Shiki/Sengoku/Ray as well. In the flashback he's right behind Roger and Garp.

But also because I don't think Xebec himself ever peaked in the flashback.

I think Xebec was in his 40s at the time of God Valley and had enough experience and power to be in his prime there, the problem was he just never got what he needed to defeat Imu.
Also, Sengoku and the Road to Laughtale book saying Xebec was Roger's greatest adversary makes me believe he's above Primebeard, Garp, Sengoku etc.

W take. Started reading Frieren this year. Read the whole thing in a couple of weeks. I have never read a manga that was so concise and crammed so much information into a single chapter without confusing the reader; it really feels like a breath of fresh air.

I think I will need to make a real pedagogic post on narration because I see stuff.. some people need to understand what requires a story to be made and the probabilities for an author to have created X or X early, very early... or not early at all. That's three threads pending.. I'm losing motivation...
