The Last Samurai is decent. I’d recommend checking out HBO’s Rome - a dramatic rendition of the caesarean civil war and then the last civil war. Really good writing in it, tries to explore the culture of Ancient Rome through unique venues. Sadly it got rushed into ending during its second season when initially devised for 5 full seasons.
