1. He was going to tank so wasn't scared
2. It is a team battle and he can't leave Big Mom to get sneak attacked 5vs1 as he recovers momentarily

He wants a proper death, getting injured by Zoro and nerfing him in his 1vs1 against Luffy wouldn't be a worthy death.

He tried to drown himself or jump off the sky to die already.

He could have had the honor to die by the hand of Zoro. But no... Big Mom destroyed everything
Kaido has never actually wanted to die.

His whole suicidal thoughts comes from him cheating in the fight against Oden where he really would've died.

In the end, him jumping from sky island is just farce because he knew full well he wouldn't due from that height and he was aiming for Kidd's alliance

I mean there's nothing suggesting that Oden is anything else but a dead man. Not a ghost, spirit, soul nesting inside the sword. It's just made up, which means we are denying the solid surface here... theorizing is fine but venturing too far without consistent material is not good.
I'm having fun with this thread just like everyone else in here, but my reply causes some concerns????

Kaido(dragon) couldn't block Zoro's attack, either he tanks it like the other attacks before or he should dodge it. It is like saying kaido(dragon) should tank an ikoku and not dodge it.
The situation of kaido not dodging the others SN's, is because the situation does not permit it. Killer was on top of kaido, law used room, luffy' s attack was to fast, and Kidd attacked an already falling kaido. I don't mean any of the former attack is stronger than that Zoro' s attack.
