What's the best arc in OP?

I personally think it'd be either the East Blue Saga, introducing most of our favorite characters and then you have some real emotional moments in Arlong Park. But I think both the Baroque Works Saga and Skypeia are also top tier arcs. Baroque Works is just such a large scale event that Oda took his time to develop over the course of several islands, letting us get to know Vivi a bit more so our investment in her would pay off on Alabasta proper. And Skypeia has some of the best world building in any single arc. Extra impressive since Jaya was like, 10 chapters of build up for such a great arc.

Hands down Water 7/Enies Lobbies! Luffy vs Lucci was amazing, it also had some of the best moments like Robin’s flashback, internal strawhat conflicts, introduction of Franky, Nami had her own fight scenes, SH declaring war on world government

even the end with Garp’s appearance and Luffy’s father reveal

Water 7 / Ennies Lobby is the best one. This must be a popular opinion, but that happens for reasons.

1. The conflict is great and complicated.
Not the usual "SHP comes to an island - island is being ruled by big bad - SHP befriends some villagers - SHP vs Big Bad's crew - party".
In Water 7 there are more conflicts than that. Going Merry reached her limit and continued with internal conflict of Luffy vs Usopp. Usopp leaving the crew. And at the same time, Robin was also missing and leaving the crew. As said by Nami, the crew got confused because of these matters.
Then usual Big Bads come, Lucci Kaku Kalifa Blueno etc.

2. Epic moment of Sogeking's first debut aboard the Sea Train. The anime also animated this scene very well.
There's also his iconic moment when he burned down the Government's flag.

3. All out fights and power ups for 4 strongest members.
Luffy vs Lucci, Gear Second and Gear 3. Zoro vs Kaku, Asura. Sanji vs Jabra, Diable Jambe. Chopper vs Kumadori, Monster Point first debut.

4. Rewarding ending for the arc.
After such heavy problems mentioned above, Robin came back. Usopp came back with emotional apology.
Not only that, SHP gained two more rewards, new nakama Franky and new ship Thousand Sunny.
It just feels satisfactory to see how the complicated problems came, they resolve it, and got some nice rewards in the end.

(x) All of them

I can't decide, i love them all.
This, it’s like picking your favorite child.

That being said...Wano is rapidly becoming my favorite arc, but I think Water 7/Enies Lobby is Oda’s finest work, in terms of both art and writing. Skypiea and Marineford were amazing in their own ways, and every other arc has its individual highlights, but that part of the story is insanely well-executed.

Second to Water 7 - Ennies Lobby is Alabasta arc.

1. Good story with proper build up from Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Kingdom arcs.

2. Best villain for the Big Bad, Crocodile.

3. Top characters involved in the arc.
Vivi, Crocodile, Smoker, Nico Robin.

4. Sanji outsmarted Crocodile in Alabasta. Before that he also memeed Crocodile in Shitty Restaurant phone call in Little Garden.

5. Zoro unlocked advanced CoA / Breath of All Things in that arc.

One strength that Water 7 / EL and Alabasta have over Marineford arc is: the whole crew is complete. Marineford only had Luffy solo adventure.

Definitely Water 7 + Enies Lobby. Seeing the Usopp conflict come into fruition after the buildup after the Aokiji fight was amazing, it added lots of tension to the already amazing arc. Wano could learn a thing or 2 from that arc :myman:

Difficult:

- Alabasta is the most balanced arc: it lacks nothing.
- Skypeia is pure adventure.
- Sabaody is the best paced, has a lot of information, great worldbuilding and is a big turning point for all the story.
- Water 7/El has an unmatched emotional weight.
- Marineford is really epic.
- Dressrosa goes deeper than every other arc regarding the core themes of One Piece and has Doflamingo.
- WCI is the apotheosis of Oda's creativity

Each arc has very big strenghts. Hard to pick up one : my favourites one are Water 7, Sabaody and Dressrosa.

well..for me every arc in OP is amazing....but EL/W7, Alabasta, MF tops the list....

even though I like DR/WCI, they left some bitter taste because of the overly dramatic sequences at the climax of the arc....first half of the DR and first half of WCI are top notch...in DR, 4 chapters for 10 minutes hakiless Luffy and BigMom shouting wedding cake ruined bit or an each arc....

I will rate Wano as a whole after rereading the whole arc because that way we can know the greatness of any arc....

Alabasta is so overrated, the plot is so generic and vivi is as bland as every other princess lol WCI had way more interesting characters and plot

anyway the best arc for me is Skypea followed by WCI and Saboady, they are the arcs that showed oda creativity the most
