advantages over the hybrid form.
Ulti switched from base to hybrid then went full beast form when Luffy hit P1, why would she purposely nerf herself when she was angered?

Luffy always fought against superior enemys in base. He did with Hybrid muscular Lucci, he did with Doflamingo, he somehow did it with Cracker during 12 hours, etc. He was always portrayed as someone capable in his Base form.
And in that comment the discussion was about his durability. Katakuri not knocking him out while he was in Base does not matter nor makes Kata look bad since Kata could deal damage to Boundman Luffy (> any YC aside from Marco and Jozu in durability) with blunt damage or have an equal contest against Snakeman punches. King didn't show a shit till now comparable to that.

At the very least no top tier has taken care of/eliminated Marco immediately (like for example Kaido Thunder Bagua vs G4 Luffy). Marco would certainly lose against them but him being able to actually do something of some impact in such situations is already great to be honest.
Regarding Benn, his vivre card (and also chap 957), has hyped him up tremendously. I legitimately believe that an emperor/admiral beats him with high diff. Not extreme, but not even medium or low.

I think it should be better to bet if he doesn't use "true hybrid" in King and Queen fight.
