I thought about it too... If it's Kanjuro then he faked Toki's appearance too, but in that case, it would mean that Kanjuro had the opportunity to finish them off but he chose not to.

Nigh... immortality given by Ope Ope no mi doesn't make you unkillable, it's just stops your aging. Also, it was never said or hinted that Oden went through the operation.

But why paint Oden though!? Even if you're right it would make more sense to came up with a new design of human then imitate Oden. By imitating Oden Kanjuro exposes himself immidetly, I just refuse to believe that the scabbards would fell for it especially Denjiro who is quite smart.

What I don't understand is bringing Oden to the future. An Oden that is 1st yc. What is he going to do against a kaido that is now in hybdrid and that had 20 years to become stronger? I would understand it but he doesn't even have his best swords with him.

I am still hoping the reason Oda showed kanjuro like this was because what we see of Kanjuro is not his real self too.

Ok guys, I wanted to make a different thread for this one but decided to post it here.
In chapter 1003 the 5SN were in really bad situation, all out Luffy did little to no damage to Kaido and after that he lost his haki for 10 minutes. Now, one of the supernovas <<Zoro>> is busy protecting Luffy while Kid, Law and Killer can't possibly take on Kaido in his hybrid form needless to say about Big Mom. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the 5SN can't defeat even one Emperor and there's no way that they can take down both Kaido and Meme at the same time. In 1003 it was clear that the supernovas are in desperate need of an asspull to survive that fight. And Oda actually foreshadowed it...

In this panel you can see three doors, two of them are already broken, but the third one is still intact. Many people were speculating that there's going to be another character who will join the fight and save the supernovas. The third door will be used by that character who will save the day, someone, who is strong enough that can fight against an Emperor in 1v1. Like I've said it before, someone needs to take care of one the Emperors so that the supernovas can concentrate on the other. If this Oden is the real Oden then you know what's going to happen...

Even if it is the real oden he isn't using his strongest swords and he would be fighting a Kaido 20 years older that is probably stronger than the one he fough back in time. Meaning that he won't be able to 1v1 a Yonko but he would be strong enough to grant some help.

But I do agree, they need help they either need one character that is very strang or several characters that are weaker but capable of putting up a good fight.

I haven't read the entire thread so i don't know if anybody else noticed this but i've just come across an interesting youtube comment.
Oden said something that whoever actually knew the scabbard or their story would never say (if the translation isn't off): " You've all aged quite a bit!".
But 4 of them didn't age at all:shocking:

So I'd exclude basically anyone except for a younger Oden (so an Oden coming from years before his execution) and Catarina Devon :goyea:

Isn´t that kinda different. Actually someone who didn´t know them would never said such lines, but Oden said something with is not wrong, the scabbards age, at least 5 of them. But we need also the viz translation for the final prove.

Everyone I’m sure has read the Oda interview about him not liking character resurrections... Like I know Oda likes his false deaths but at the very least he seems to have a very strong opinion on this one thing

Like that interview was Oda throwing shade at Toriyama... That never happens... Oda never throws shade at Toriyama and yet he did then specifically on this topic of resurrections

Now if Oda breaks this rule... I don’t even know... Let’s just say I will not buy that Oda has gone down so much until it’s confirmed
