General & Others Protecting Luffy was as much as Sanji's moment as it was Zoro's.

Little parting thread before I go on my one week hiatus...

People always love to use Thriller Bark as a reason to show that Zoro has the highest loyalty. And their reasoning is beyond faulty.

At the end of the day, Zoro and Sanji both had the same resolve. Whtether Sanji could tank the pain of Luffy is another entire discussion. If Sanji took it and died, he wouldn't look less than Zoro in loyalty to Luffy. The only thing that mattered that day.... in terms of loyalty was the ones sacrificing their lives for Luffy. All Zoro got was the feat of enduring Luffy's pain. However Sanji and Zoro were both equal with their resolve. Oda rehashes that several times.

So again why do people always confuse the feat of taking the pain.... with the concrete resolution both Zoro and Sanji showed. Being the one to have carried Luffy's pain doesnt make you anymore loyal. It just shows your tuff. The sacrificial moment against Kuma, was as much Sanji's moment as it was Zoro's moment. Zoro just got the bonus feat at the end. Nothing more. If Oda wanted this to be Zoro's sole moment. He would've excluded Sanji from it. And he wouldn't have carried on giving praise to Sanji after the moment as well.

Stop sleeping on Sanji

Agreed. Zoro surviving Luffy's pain is probably the biggest plot armor in anime history. People often discredits Sanji for not "shine" as much as Zoro even though he's ready to die for Zoro's dream. It's just double standards in general. If Zoro didn't knocked Sanji out and Kuma divide the bubble pain in half and give it to both Zoro and Sanji to endure it then toxic fanwars wouldn't be a thing.

I'm guessing I'm in charge of the Supreme General of the Sanji Fandom then.:pepecry:

In terms of intentions, yes. But in terms of the actual result, Zoro was the one who took all the pain at the end of the day.
It would be like saying that Oden's boiling was as much of a moment for the scabbards because they were all willing to die with him.
Im talking about loyalty here. Taking the pain just gave Zoro the extra feat. But like Brook said...they both had the resolution to die for Luffy. The whole point of Zoro's moment was that he thought he would die to it. So the resolution for willing to die in Luffy's place is shared by both of them.

No because they would have died from the sample. :milaugh:
Then Kuma cant kill Luffy still because he already killed a SH.

No they didn't dumbass. If luffy lost a crew member he would go in to shock and give up and with no jinbe to set him straight he rips himself apart.
That's why it HAD to be zoro
No only show the loyalty to his captain but take it all and SURVIVE so luffy can keep going for his dream
I'm talking about Kuma bitch. Not the after-effects it would have on Luffy. Stop bringing up what would happen afterwards.

At the end of the day Zoro's loyalty isnt more than Sanji....

Sanji was in a worse state when he confronted Kuma. He took a gatling from Oars, a beating from Absalom and the latter even stabbed him. This without considering 'minor attacks' from Oars, the fact that he deflected a bazooka with his own legs, the Ursus shock and that the spot in which he was hit by Zoro is a very sensitive one.

Zoro didn't receive any damage from Ryuma, Oars hit him twice or thrice with no named attack (or if they were, they were certainly << a gatling) and Kuma barely hurt him (excluding the ursus shock).
