We know that he and BM didn't see each other for decades or haven't been in same place for decades.
So his L probably came prior 20 years ago.
It will explain why he became WSC and people started crowing as 1 vs 1 champ
In Ace Novels people even go far to debate who is superior between him and WB.

I believe Kaido 7 Ls came when he was a rookie
*His big L was against some people or someone strong in which BM saved him (the debt)
This either happened prior Rocks or shortly after Rocks disband.
* Most of his Ls came from Xebec whom kaido challenged , this is how He joined Xebec crew.
We saw how Ace, Moriah, Croco, Supernova all went for the Big pirates
So it makes sense he was challenging them
* his other L came from WB Shiki BM
As crewmates , He challenged them and Lost.

What do you guys think?
Even in movies or fillers... we see how bullet challenged Roger many times...fouhh Raleigh

Oda likes doing this thing a lot.

I think all the original Yonko have beaten him. That is WB and Big Mom. The Marine HQ have also captured him several times so it stands to reason the actually defeated him a couple of times though it was likely a gang bang no doubt (marines don't give a crap about 1 vs 1).

Rocks Crew lost to roger pirates and Garp Navy alliance
Not Kaido himself.

Or He lost vs a team
Coz he was solo

Which makes sense why he wa captured 18 times

Probably Rocks, cause I can see Kaido being the type to go for "he beat me so I must join him."

Whitebeard and Big Mom cause they've been around for donkeys years and the Rocks crew seems the type to beat each other up.

Oden isn't actually a bad shout. If Oden was on Roger's crew at the Gods Valley incident it's entirely possible he beat a younger Kaido and that's where Kaido's interest in Wano started. We know that Oden scarred Kaido- nothing says that has to have happened in the Wano invasion. If not him then Garp, Roger, Sengoku or Ray.

And he might have lost to some of these guys more than once, making up the seven. Rocks and Whitebeard being the main candidates for that, I would think.

seeing how Oden is being portrayed as a freak of nature since birth, he was probably a top tier when Kaido arrived in Wano and it wouldn't surprise me if he managed to beat Kaido once

He lost to a lot of top tiers, he has been hyped way too much. He is worth of being a yonko but he is no strongest one.

Rocks - to make him join
WB x2 Once as a part of the crew, and again as Pirate Captains. Went for round 3 before Marineford
BM - As apart of the rocks pirate crew possibly afterword.
Roger - after leaving Rocks crew
Akainu - Need to hype my boy Sakazuki
Moria - They were said to be rivals. In their younger days Moria may have caught a W with his shadow fruit. Then Kaido killed his crew

Honorable Mentions - Rayleigh or Gabban (During God Valley Incident) Oden on Wano before the betrayal. Aokiji, Kizaru, Garp, Bullet, Z

Oden part also makes sense to me, unless Kaidou is originally an inhabitant of Onigishima, Oden might have picked Kaidou interest during Rocks incident. And Thn it could be Orochii bringing/inviting in Kaidou and the latter accepting due to their past interactions.
