Ah i remember your Kamaitachi theory. That would be really awesome and i can really imagine Killer getting to this level. That would be kinda his great Power Up this Ark and would fit pretty well.
Imagine Oda is building this up over time. Like his arms get suddenly some more hairs in the panels, he gets stronger step by step, Kid figures Killers breathing is kinda odd and at some point, he throws away his mask and claims "damnit, its to small" and suddenly there is some signs of the Kamaitachi.

Sounds damn good, now I want to see it on panel lol
Another possibility is that will be showcased in a future arc after some time that we don't see Killer in action, to hype him by taking out an already hyped big shot
Maybe with a half chapter flashback of the first time it awakened on their ship...
