As much as I hate WCI, there was clear set-ups for why Sanji wasn't supposed to fight. Firstly, it mirrors the Baratie arc....where Sanji never defeated anyone, and was instead saved by his kindness at the end. Oda further elaborating on his kindness in the arc...shows where he was going with it. Secondly....Oda wanted to show that emotions/kindness trumps strength and having no emotions......thus Sanji being the only son to have saved Judge. Thirdly I'm pretty sure the Sim-Sim whip is something Sanji learned within the timeskip. Oda should've elaborated on it further....but Sanji's cooking skills really have improved. He showed plenty of cooking feats. With being able to recreate the entire cake...by smell. To making the sim sim whip that makes people faint.
Even though Sanji never got a fight...(again I'm pissed too). The cake was potrayed as pretty vital in making BM leave the SHs. With Sanji getting the same potrayal as Luffy as one of the saviours of that arc. I do think Oda fucked up by not having Sanji have a fight....but then again it would've complicated the cake plot if the BMPs found out Sanji was helping in cooking the cake.
Overall the arc was a miss for Sanji in terms of fighting. But Oda's intention probably wasn't to make Sanji look bad. Like I said...he better make up for it this arc.

Read what i said. I said hes mainly a coom. Never said hes not a fighter at all. And you gonna ignore the other part of my comment just because you dont know what to say to it? You can have character development and still fight a 1v1 its honestly irrelevant. Zoro has character development aswell hes a combatant that has character development.
Zoro barely has character development. I’m not gonna argue on Zoros character development rn. The point of whole cake wasn’t to fight everyone there is that was the point all the straw hats would be there. Oda only wanted luffy to get his fights to get stronger for kaido. Sanji still hasn’t gone all out post timeskip just like the rest of the straw hats.

Surprised Sanji fans think now that WCI wasn't a place for Sanji to get a 1v1 which I always thought so anyway but back then these were the predictions from his fans:

you know why people are not satisfied with sanji even though everyone knows he is a cook. its because he was shown as some kind of rival to zoro but zoro is far above sanji right now(atleast in terms of feats coz we dont know the full strength of either of them). And while zoro is fighting yonkos while sanji is just roaming around, being caught in trap etc etc.. Everyone wants him to be more than just a cook of Strawhats.
