If we are currently in the business of listing Supernovas in terms of personal preference then mine would be;

Those that I actually like;
1) Urouge.
2) Capone Bege.
3) Law.

Those that are just kinda alright;
4) Hawkins.
5) Apoo.
6) X Drake.

Those I cannot give a feck about;
7) Bonney
8) Kidd.
9) Luffy
10) Zoro.
11) Killer.
You should like Hawkins, but I appreciate it that you think he is at least kinda alright.

Is he that low, because you know that he is going to beat Akainu one day? maybe it will be Sabo. Who knows.
I appreciate this.

I am not sure how anyone can like him.
He's that low because he went from being a pretty good and at least semi-unique protagonist pre timeskip to be generic recycled Shonen garbage post TS lol.

Honest question here: How can you even defeat a monster like Hawkins?

Even Kaido listens to him.
Fair point since even Oda had to offpanel it.

And Hawkins was the MVP of act 1 from Kaidou's side. No denying that, he screwed over the alliance (especially Law) on multiple occasions. Odd that he didn't stack up on more lives before confronting Law, but he was still the one in control, would have worked out for him anyway if Drake didn't backstab him.

Doubt his role is over in Wano.

Hawkins is a cool design and devil fruit powers with not much else currently going for him. He has shown some intelligence what with preventing Kaido from destroying a town (that Holdem destroyed instead), outmaneuvering Law (a notorious schemer) and not charging Kaido like a stupid eejit (unlike two dumb arse sassenachs at the bottom of the list).

Basically, I would just like to learn about Hawkins personality and beliefs by this point. Why did he become a pirate? What are his opinions on fate and destiny? Is he interested in the One Piece? Those kind of questions.

Beautifully said. Hawkins will come back stronger than ever. He still has so much more to show.

I think Oda wanted to use that moment as a catalyst of Hawkins switching side at one point

Hawkins was mentioned to have some cards allowing someone to be boosted beyond natural limits

This could be used either to boost his abilities or some of his allies

Plus, there is the month survival prediction he gave to Luffy/Zoro at the beginning of the arc suggesting that this arc will go past the onigashima raid, moment when Hawkins will likely be present to validate that prediction

I really wish for a Hawkins flashback to answer all of these important questions.

Hawkins definitely has some very strong tarot cards left in his deck, that we haven't seen yet. The card that can boost someone's strength beyond their limits is a moment I can't wait to see.

And yes Hawkins is definitely going to switch sides. Kaido will be very sad that he lost such a valuable person like Hawkins.

You know who he reminds me of? Kite from HxH, his strength and abilities completely fluctuate and depend on his luck, I can see this guy being a monster possibly above the rest of the SN in certain circumstances. Other times he could be on the lower end.

With a guy like this, Oda can let his imagination run wild in a crucial moment and ignore power scaling norms. It's all about the heart of the cards.

Imagine his awakening being somehow only drawing good cards lmao.

Yeah it's similar to Kite's crazy slot in a sense. Still remember the funny gag about why he created the ability in the first place lol

It also reminds of Yugioh, with this meme
