He tanked all the attacks launched till that point and Luffy said in the previous chapter that they are "humans" and for sure they (Kaido only actually since they were focusing on him) are feeling it, so ofc Kaido is starting now to dodge since he is not at his peak and this chapter confirmed it.
Now he needs to fight seriously without belittling them so he need to fight like a normal character, by evading when he can, blocking, counterattacking, etc. Not by being a sandbag.
This is similar to Lucci's damage when EL. Ofc Kaido is still very far for a moment like his legs going limp for a moment.
So the answer to that question could be yes or no, it's not really important. That wasn't the purpose of that scene.
