Powers & Abilities How many seconds would Hakai take to destroy an island?

#1
Let’s remember this is anime and a lot of nonsense can happen in a very shot period of time.

How long would a Hakai focused on Onigashima specifically take to destroy the island?

as a Point of reference Pica was cut in half and then bisected and then chopped into even tinier pieces and then his real body was defeated by Zoro in less time than it took for his pieces to even REACH anywhere near the ground. That’s Mountain level destruction over multiple attacks that happened in less than probably 30 seconds.

So how long would it take for one clean Hakai to destroy an island?

If that hit onigashima clean. Onigashima gone.

depends A LOT on the size of the island.
:P
Using Onigashima as an example, no, I dont think 1 Hakai would be able to destroy it.

It wouldn't

And thats only a portion of the roof-top shown.
I like how Kaido and BM were really close to each other, but in this picture they are waaaaaay more apart.
And it gets even funnier looking at that shitty scaling and positioning, and realizing people actually waste time and effort calculating pixels from these panels to try "accurately" measure stuff.
It's crystal clear Oda gives almost 0 fucks about being that precise about these things.

It would normally cause impending mass bursting.

Just think about Boro Breath. The propagation of the blast wave is generally extremely violent.

I mean it makes sense. Hakai is basically 2 Ikouko's combined

This is how small one Ikouko

So Hakai should logically do only this much

Maybe 1000 Hakais can destroy Onigashma:choppawhat:

We can also see that the hole is kinda clean.
Little to no cracks on the walls.
Is a extremely powerful clean piercing attack.
@Finalbeta talked about the bursting like Boro Breath, but Hakai does not look like Boro Breath in nature AT ALL.
It would definitely pierce through Onigashima, but that's it. Wouldn't disperse enough power to actually break it down.

It caused a mass explosion however so it seems like it despite the nature can look misguiding. Had Zoro not obstructed its force the impact would have been extensively more devastating, so major part of the energy was wasted.

It would just travel further, like it actually did. There was a burst from the block, but that's because the energy gotta go somewhere. If it can't go further, and the force applied to stop it it's not enough to send it back, it disperses. But the attack, after the SN's dodge, just travels further. (Which is why I say Law actually TP'ed Zoro out).
The island itself wouldn't apply such a force. The attack would more likely either be slowed down until it stopped, while it pierced the island, or it would pierce it all the way through. The Giants attack against the Sea King worked as a pierce attack. BM's Ikoku Soveignshit pierced the wall and travelled further accross Onigashima. This is just the same attack, but bigger and stronger.
