Yeah it's little wierd but Luffy knows that Kaido will get up after his attack. Maybe that's why he is saying at some point and somehow (he doesn't really know if CoC thing will be good enough to beat Kaido) he will put down Kaido.
This was Kaido chance to call Zoro a Monstrous Samurai......but it seems he has Luffy's CoCk down his throat too much. I really wonder how the Ashura wound will compare to the Oden one....

Those aren't the same, they never used CoC again and CoC was never a factor for victory in those fights, it was used just to draw one scene for fanservice, never used again to make a difference in battle, like now against Kaido.
