So you are comparing the 20 years of build up got Luffy to Kid just big as strong as him because plot demands it and there's no real need to explain how or why he is?
You do realise that even random characters like Capone at least got given reasons why they are somewhat strong and how they got strong and some of their feats.... Hell even Law (who everyone dismisses as not being that important compared to Kid) got a Strawhat level backstory and explanation for all his skills from his devil fruit to fighting style to even medicine... But Nahhhh, Kid is just AS STRONG AS LUFFY BECAUSE PLOT
That means you're saying there will be an explanation for however strong he is then right? That means we have to establish how strong he is and then get an explanation for it AND THATS WHEN YOU WE START SAYIG HE CAN FIGHT A YONKOU
Get it? My problem is you guys are saying he can match up to a Yonkou simply because Luffy is getting strong enough to do this AND YET YOU GIVE NO EXPLANATION FOR HOW THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE.... Don't scale him to Luffy without fuckin evidence for it PLEASE... if you want to scale him then use his feats... Which are none existent...

There is a Need to explain how and why, but we are not at the Point of Story where it happened. It will happen when Kid is showing his strength and when the Focus Comes to him. Then we will know how he got so strong and how strong he ist. But for now, we dont know.
This characters got their flashbacks and explanations because they were already the Focus, they needed that build up to explain them. It wasnt necessary for Kid so far, like it wasnt necessary for Kaido so far, or for Akainu so far, or for Blackbeard so far... which doesnt mean it wont come. It will definitly come, in the Moment when Kid is the Focus of the Story.

I can back it up by following Points:
1. He went for different Yonkos so far and is still alive, still wants to go for them. (survived Kaido, survived Shanks, was at WCI)
2. He is build up as rival to Luffy, showed the exact same feats under pressure at Udon (by working for Food).
3. Even knowing the strength of Luffy, he doesnt care for an alliance when he is Walking through wano, even knowing the strength of Queen and Kaido.
Thats no clear numbers, but build up an Image where is pretty strong. No idea how strong exactly, but it is obviously he is able to to grow alot and take his place.

Luffy himself sees Kidd someone very powerful
He first laughed off Cairbou believing lies.
Then didnt even question Kidd when he mentioned he fought Shanks and injured calamities , if he lied, luffy has that intuition to tell when somebody lies.
He asked kid to join him, something he has never done to any supernova! Law and Capone asked Luffy for alliance while Luffy asks Kidd... it clearly shows who weights more between Kidd and other supernova in the eyes of Luffy and Oda.
That alone shows THAT Kidd isn't a pushover.
Now about his haki, he may have Ryou or good CoO or even Advanced CoA, maybe he tried it on Kaido and failed coz he wasnt focused enough.
1. He lost his crew and his hand. I'm sorry but you cannot seriously think this outcome for Kid compares to Luffy who faced Whitebeard Big mom Blackbeard and kaido and walked away with more crew mates and allies and him and his crew being generally stronger.
2. Luffy has a "rival" everywhere he chooses to have one especially when he nerfs himself... He apparently drew with Jinbe at Fishman island when they fought... He wanted to keep his identity hidden and so actually got into mid diff fights with guys in the colosseum when he could've low diff most of them in serious situations.... He got into a head butting competition with a bull mink in Zou and it was shown they EQUALLY matched up to another...Sanji fuckin knocked him out and he got into a high diff fight with Cadera in WCI (Do you remember Cadera? Of course you don't. Because he's low tier but actually High diffed a hungry Luffy)... when Luffy is nerfed or nerfs himself, it been constantly potrayed very clearly that his base stats can be matched by weaker people... You are gonna say Kid was also nerfed but Jinbe and Sanji were nerfing themselves too and Oda still made it a point that nerfed Luffy matched them
3. Him having a personality flaw of being distrustful of allies doesn't equate to him being strong... This is like saying Crocodile in Alabasta was strong because he built an organisation filled with Secrecy and distrust and wanted to fight Whitebeard so that means he is strong since he never wanted help and wanted to singlehandedly find a way of killing whitebeard... Personality flaws aren't a good thing...they can be a sign of character in some regard but they do not amount to anything good... Luffy's wrecklessness is a personality flaw and it's a sign of character but it's never a good thing, Luffy wrecklessly tried to fight Kaido and got walloped and sent to prison... The reason characters are given these flaws is so that they can LEARN FROM THEM and then GROW AS CHARACTERS... Luffy when he got imprisoned decided to focus on training instead of being dumb and escaping when he knows he's too weak to do anything so he insisted on staying, even after the prison was taken over the man kicked down his stupid wreckless impulses and trained until he dropped... That's growing from your flaws... Kid's personality flaw is his distrust and it will NOT BE A GOOD THING...He will not accomplish jack shit until he decides to team up with Luffy and grow as a character and so it is NOT a sign of strength
