General & Others Rate Wano so far

Yea i made a error lol but aint law whoop his ass to escape how that help?
I need to check again but they were talking and shouldn't have happened if he was serious about locking Law up. It doesn't matter if Law whoop his ass. The reason why Law complied was because his crew was being held hostage with Hawkins DF. So tell me how does it go from that to Law escaping? Simple hawkins let him get away.

Also @lee33 I agree with most your points. I got annoyed at one point and dropped One Piece for a year. When I came back and binged it still felt like nothing happened. Wano has had waaay too much build up for this nonsense.

At that point in the series Wano was about maybe 6/10. I rated it higher because recent development was good imo. I just wanted to comment on the BM stuff. I think she wanted to kill and finish Kidd. Remember she almost fell in the ocean because of Kidd. Also why should she rush back to help another yonko?? As far as she is concern they don't stand a chance. I don't like Nami getting Zeus I have always hated the idea and is one the reasons WCI pissed me off. That being said BM attacking page one 100% make sense. She is a mother and is literally building a utopia for all races. She may be messed up in the head but her methods and Kaido are completely different.

One thing bothers me though. Why Big Mom looking for Kidd like she don't got CoO? Another form of haki that needs to be fleshed out. Facepalm.

So many issues I have with Wano. Just to name a few:

- Off screens Jack vs Ino/Neko, then off screens Carrot vs Pespero and yet provides ample amount of detailed chapters of fodder fights.

- Five chapters devoted to Luffy running to the roof fighting fodder just for him to reach 1000. That is the defintion of filler.

- Sanji screaming for help and being a simp while Luffy and Zoro are fighting Kaido. Oda has ruined Sanji character.

- ridiculously long prelude arcs: Punk Hazard, Dressrosa and Zou. Three arcs devoted to set up for Wano and yet we still needed 70 chapters of the first two acts for yet more set up. Like how much set up does an author need?

- Hyping the samari's up and yet they were dealt with easily by Kaido himself so why was the marines so scared of Wano?

- Toki being used as a baby machine. She was born in the void century and this is what Oda uses her for? Oda does not know how to write female characters.

- Oden being forced. Like why would they follow Oden when he left them for years while Kaido invaded them? And then when Oden finally came back being with the Pirate King he then danced for five more years? He was with the pirate king crew and that is what Oda wanted Oden to do for five years?

- The structure of these scenes and plotline. for example let's look at Kanjuro. What was the point in the scabbards fighting Kanjuro offscreen and Kanjuro being "killed" offscreen...only for the scabbards to have to confront Kanjuro a second time? That first encounter added absolutely nothing to the narrative and in fact hurt the Kanjuro plotline. Oda wasted months of tension and buildup on an offscreen encounter.

- Chapter after chapter Yamato and momo just running around

- Also, oda has maxed out world building to such an extent that no matter what he does he won't be able to do justice with all characters now.

- Large percent of those characters end up doing almost nothing relevant. This brings up the question why some of these characters were even brought into the story in the first place. This is were Yamato comes into place. What has she done so far? Yamato has been running with Momonosuke and Shinobu fighting against fodder and pointless shenanigans even though it has already been established that Momo isn't going to die. Do we really need a side-plot like this in the semi- endgame of OP?

-this arc had hundreds of chapters of build up before hand, yet the plot is still generic as ever, and the conflict is still about defeating a false ruler because one of the inhabitants are friends with Luffy, there's no ideological nor personal rivaly nor any deep reasons for fighting the big bad ,so far there's actually no reason for this arc to even exist, it's seems like filler.

-Oda has been setting up the current matchups and moving characters around for like over 30 chapters now.

- Wano is 80% just set up and 15 percent shenanigans and 5% story progression.

- This author is trying to run a 4 hour marathon in 5 minutes, to do so you have to take short cuts and progress in unnatural ways. Oda simply added too many characters and storylines, now he has no idea how to maneuver through this mess and often just leaps past all of it in attempts to just make luffy win because well.....that's what needs to happen. Oda at this point seems like an author who has a check list of things that he wants to just x off one by one, offhanded explanation's are not enough to make us care, so...what does he do? easy, just make it hype!, "but oda luffy just got one shot 2 weeks ago" ya....cause its hype, never mind how detrimental it is to current events, "but oda if it took luffy 2 weeks to learn the basics of advanced armament how did he just use advanced kings?!"....hype!. What oda does is check off what he needs to write and improvise what's in-between, writing for young boys is.....just make it look cool, Oda himself already said it and that's what your expectations should be.

- 4 Chapters earlier Kaido and Big Mom on a panel together where it was written "this is hell“ then chapter 1011 happened where Big Meme gets tamed by a 9 year old. A lot chapters earlier Kaido and Big Mom wants to dominate, conquer and destroy the world, now gets TAMED by one of the 3 worst plot-device by a child with a plot-armour that is even unreachable for Luffy.

- Ridiculous plot armour in the series. Against page one Big Mom uses conquerors haki punch. Against Kidd - the good guys = no haki. Would think Big Mom would take Kidd invading her island and injuring her commanders a bit more personal than Page One doing completely nothing against her but here we are. Oh I'm guessing her mental state wasn't right when her homies were attacked and switched which is why she couldn't use haki against Kidd amirite? lol

-What is the point anymore, why must we keep playing these stupid little games. Big Mom came to wano specifically to kill luffy, specifically to get revenge on luffy and she keeps getting distracted with shenanigans.

- Enemies keep getting revived, wont stay down and going back to fight (orochi , kanjuro, jack, apoo etc), it doesnt seem to be going one way or the other.

- Fairy Tail type power scaling: Luffy is now good enough to fight Kaido 1 v 1. Law and Zoro tanking the same attack that Luffy got one shotted by.

- No tension at all: Marco is fighting King and Queen on his own, The 9 Scabbards are healed and back in action, Otama has control over all the SMILE users that have been hyped up since Punk Hazard and Dressrosa, The Beast Pirates on the Main Floor have joined the alliance, Otama just befriended Big Mom and she just rocked Page One, etc.

-So instead of going back to the roof after Big Mom blows Kidd and Killer away, she “coincidentally” decides show up in front of Nami and co? How does this make any sense lol. And of course Zeus will be on the way there since Nami said she needs stronger lightening and Zeus is looking for Big Mom. Like I get it, Oda wanted to manufacture a situation where Nami gets Zeus but this is such a cheap way to do it lol. Also this is the second chapter where Oda shafts Kidd and Killer to give another character a moment. Last chapter so that Luffy could get his 1 v 1 with Kaido, he made Kidd act completely out of character to go chase Big Mom and people called it “character development”. (It wasn’t). In this chapter instead of letting Kidd finally do something big against Big Mom, just so Nami can get Zeus Kidd and Killer are blown away in the first pages and now Killer has to fight Hawkins and Kidd is “looking” for Big Mom. (ch 1011)

- This arc has been setup since 2012 in Punk Hazard and has had Dressrosa, Zou and WCI additionally setting this arc up. Yet STILL, despite 4 arcs of setup, Oda decided to give another 70 chapters of setup before the actual main event of the arc that everything is focused around. It would be made a bit better if the actual content in the 70 chapters was any good either.
Man at least credit me before copying and pasting my comment word for word lol come on. (point 15)

For the sake of the conversation, do you think wano would be better without big mom?
No...it’s just that the execution is horrible so far because of apparently how this war is extremely unbalanced so there bust be asspulls and plot armors.

Linlin never cared about discrimination looooooool she was bullying pudding third eye come on now...let’s not act as if she doesn’t have a library of races captured for her own enjoyment...she gathers races because it’s her hobby...she couldn’t careless about racism...she is one of the most racist characters in the story anyways.

You forgot X-Drake. He is the one who frees Law and that's why he got discovered and later attacked by Queen, Who's Who and Hawkins.

lame/10
I rly dont like to see that abomination named big mom every 7-8 pages(especially her new two „good„ modes who appeared in wano for plot sake... It young form was more pleasant for the eyes.
Also, all dis fake tension is just not my cup of tea+fk kanjuro, that dude is rly unpleasant to look at+kinemon and his samurai bros, orochi etc....They all look like middle aged hobos who live outside of a sewer.
