Indeed. There's this kind of myth flung around that Akainu managed to break through Whitebeard's defence because of this sickness, and yet his AP (Whitebeard's) was so consistently above Thunder Bagua it would at least seemingly appear, so that's unlikely that his CoA was so nerfed.

Even the Scabbards broke through Kaido's defence, swords are pretty lethal, but still. Magma should also meant to be.

ODA has portrayed 3 times that COA is effective against AKAINU. And it gave a pretty obvious justification about WB's HAKI levels, in databook, and in the manga. He implied that the disease had degraded all his HAKI.

No dude, Logia has their own weakness you don't need haki to hit them. Remember Crocodile hit by Water and Enel by Rubber? Ace matched Aokiji power due his fire advantage over ice and Akainu Magma consumes fire so he doesn't need haki to damage Ace at all.
WB illness affects all 3 types of haki but don't affect his DF? It still very weird how much and how his illness truly affected him. And we have his son's attack that some people says also affected him, for example when he had a heart attack middle war.

Like I said, Oda will change anything you believe right now. We have no other option but wait to see how it works.

And no fucking way anyone had better haki then WB at that war. Garp maybe? Not Sengoku that is for sure, he couldn't even knocked out a pre timeskip Luffy.
