I've seen many people try to use jimbei clashing with Ace as a feat for Jimbei in arguments about Jimbei's strength, when its quite the opposite.
Ace is a Rookie, 17 years old at this point with barely any knowledge about haki. Jimbei at that point would have been about 41 years old established Warlord of the seas. That Fisher Tiger Flashback was about 12 years prior to the events of marine ford, Jimbei became a warlord sometime around then, he had atleast 10 plus years of experience over Ace...
This is probably one of the poorest portrayals of a warlord we've seen in the story..........
Look at How Crocodile and Doffy were portrayed ........
17 Year old Luffy Lost multiple times before defeating Crocodile...Crocodile also defeated a bunch of characters prior to this point.
It Took Post Timeskip Luffy and Law to defeat Doflamingo, Doflamingo also defeated several other characters prior to that point.
Yet When 17 Year old Rookie Ace fights Warlord Jimbei for the first time, he doesn't lose multiple times, he doesn't have any assistance , he stale mates jimbei for 5 days.......
Jimbei does not have some huge elemental disadvantage Jimbei is a martial artist and from what we've seen Jimbei doesn't even have to use haki to hurt most devil fruit users. Its not an Enel vs Luffy situation here, not even close.
Again Ace was 17 Years old here........ The Ace we See from Alabasta to Marineford is 20 year old Ace....... 3 years Difference, I dont need to explain how much characters can change over the years given the amount of growth we saw from luffy after just 2 years.....Ace was much stronger at 20 than he was at 17. This is why using Ace vs Jimbei as a feat for Jimbei is Flawed logic.....

Man is a Pirate King material. His growth is extraordinary. He was stalemating Jinbei and yet he still have some strength left to fight Whitebeard.
