It doesn't make much sense for it to be the end of Zoro's involvement in this arc.
It makes even less sense for Zoro to contribute to Orochi's death when Orochi only has 1 head left and the sword Ame-no-Habakiri (the snake-slayer) exists...

Additionally, what was the point of introducing Enma only for it to be absolutely inconsequential in this arc? Sure, it got a few mentions on the rooftop, but even in Zoro's last moment against Kaido, it didn't matter at all. Kaido doesn't bother to talk about it either.
To the "Oden's haki" people, why is Oden's haki so irrelevant? You would imagine Oden's haki to do a lot more, but all it can do is scar Kaido again but in a more underwhelming manner?

A king fight could happen, but narratively, I can't see how it would be relevant at all given what we know so far.
How does this help Zoro round up the samurai? Are the samurai going to gather for Momonosuke their leader, Luffy the man who defeats Kaido, and/or Zoro the man who defeats one of Kaido's subordinates?
How does this help Zoro avenge Yasu? The man who Yasu even suggests should be killed is Kaido, King is irrelevant in this discussion.
How does this help expand Enma? The sword is naturally connected with Kaido, not King.

One thing I've noticed is that people are completely fine with the idea of Orochi being killed through Habakiri, but Enma, the sword which cuts through the depths of hell, killing Kaido, the man described as having the presence of hell, is completely unacceptable?
There's this idea that the Marines are going to show up and capture Kaido and/or Orochi, but each time the Marines decide to arrest the main villain of an arc, they're involved in the arc right away. It took them 3-5 chapters to get involved in Alabasta and Dressrosa.

There's a reason why there are so many panels talking about striking down Kaido and Orochi, about them dying, about their heads being taken, Orochi having gotten beheaded 7 times already. It doesn't make sense for it to be irrelevant in the end. You don't emphasise something that many times just to "forget" about it.

Another thing I've noticed is that when people try and connect Kaido to tales. They focus so much on his Oni aspect and almost completely ignore the fact that he's a dragon. It's always Oni v Oni where Luffy and Kaido are Onis.
But Kaido being a Dragon is completely ignored. If Kaido being a dragon was irrelevant, Oda would have simply made him an Oni and not a dragon.

If all Zoro does for the rest of the arc is sleep and then talk to Ryuma's grave, I would think it would be underwhelming for Zoro. But I would just have 0 expectations for him going forward, the same for Usopp in Elbaf.

TLDR:
  • Zoro isn't going to kill Orochi because Habakiri exists.
  • Why is Enma so unimportant so far?
  • How is Zoro going to round up the Samurai of Wano?
  • How is Zoro going to Avenge Yasu?
  • Why is Habakiri killing Orochi fine but Enma killing Kaido isn't?
  • Kaido and Orochi will die.
  • Why is Kaido being a Dragon completely forgotten?
Yep. I agree. People that think Zoro will only slay Orochi after this don't realize that Ame-no-Habakiri is a sword that slayed Orochi in Japanese mythology. So it makes no sense for Zoro to take down Orochi with Enma.

Crying for? It's good because Sanji is doing something useful now. I was getting tired of seeing him taking Ls it's time for a W.
because he knows where he belongs, not someone too confident, went to rooftop and fell down with 30 bones broken :)))))). ps: while 4 others are still totally good :))))))))))

this kid even doesn't know that luffy has a scar on his face because a small knife :)))))))))))))))) i should not talk to you, young kid :)))
Oh, you are speaking about Luffy? I thought you were speaking about the punch that Luffy gave to Kaido lol (yeah I am that dumb). Anyways, for a scar to be created the wound must be deep which means that Zoro's attack was strong enough to go that deep. My fault for not reading it properly. Sorry not sorry

It’s funny, if you’d to ask me before Wano if I’d be happy with Zoro’s combat role (we’ll leave story aside for now) being
-fighting two Yonko
-tanking a joint attack from two Yonko that’s more than likely the strongest we’ve ever seen
-being only the second person to scar Kaido
-unlocking CoC

Then I’d bite your hand off.

But as it is, it’s quite clear that Zoro’s role hasn’t finished yet, so yeah, I’d be pissed if that was it

Hell no. That would mean that his story is just about feats and not a story at all. For him to stay down means nothing to progress his plot threads.

- sacrifice. People point toward Sabaody parallels and just scratch the surface. Remember the second appearance of Enma, when he was hurt? From the Shusui story's beginning in Thriller Bark, where he took Luffy's pain, to here. Zoro took Luffy's defense every step of the way up there and paid for it by getting wrecked. He unlocked Haohshoku but lamented about his hit not being enough. Is he really going out like that? Is there nothing to bestow for that?

- surpassing Oden, another swordsman. Yes, he has unlocked his Haki, tamed Enma, and successfully scarred Kaido... but that doesn't put him above Oden. That means that this story brought him into direct comparison to another swordsman, who isn't even called the strongest, and failed to have him ascend. I did say it's not about feats but surpassing another swordsman is a direct step towards his dream where just generally showing off his strength isn't. We don't even know where he stands compared to the beginning of the arc.

- meeting or exceeding Ryuma. The latter might not be in this arc since Ryuma could easily have been the Mihawk of his day. But this is a point that goes all the way back to Thriller Bark. Zoro finally shows up in Wano and they take Shusui because they don't think he's a legitimate owner to where he has the credibility to override their superstition. It's his destiny to carry the sword but so far he's done nothing to make anyone think that. So finishing the arc as he is, what conversation would be had at the grave?

- revenge of the Shimotsuki. Even if he's not one himself, he's Kozaburo's patron, Koshiro's student, Kuina's rival, Yasuie's avenger, Ryuma's successor and there is the tension with Gyukimaru, Ushimaru's charge. Toko doesn't have the blood either but is useless on top, so Zoro is the only relevant trace of the clan. So... what happens, he rides out Onigashima in a comically oversized bandage?

- so Zoro is headed toward two doctors. Can they not do anything? Weird storytelling tease if so. I mean at least let him use ice Oni to fight "Luffy with hormones" style and get treated afterwards

- Hiyori is very possibly there. Ame belongs to Momonosuke, but it's then possible for her to then have it if she is. She wants to kill Orochi, but this is also a task related to Zoro on account of Yasuie

- King has been set up as a Zoro parallel at different points. I think it's a disservice to the character to lost to him now because Oda sort of abandoned that match up. But beating the right hand is another task related to Zoro

- cutting down a dragon above the captial is a third task related to Zoro. The amount of foreshadowing is stupid. You can say these tasks won't be carried out by Zoro, but debunking three is way harder than debunking any single one

- last but not least, in the same lane as cutting down a dragon is making a move towards a black sword. Whether it's upgrading Enma or getting back Shusui. Will he get it back? I hope but maybe not. Maybe the only point was regaining Wano's luck. And like his sacrifices against Kaido, we have to ask what his reward? Again, it's more about proving that he's worthy. I think we also have to see how he handles potentially getting Nidai too, which won't come from just laying around.

No. Zoro didn't even have his real 'hype' moment yet. Zoro's real feat this arc will have heavy build-up just like his ISDS in Dressrosa. Notice how everything Zoro has done on the rooftop up to now was presented so casually, as if Oda doesn't even want you to think he's done anything special yet...
