How sure are you it took so much time to make fairy tail?
You are forgetting these guys all have assistants... If the story itself isn't taking that much brain power to create then that's half the work... and the drawing is still backed up by assistants and such especially if you aren't making very complicated stuff like Oda's backgrounds and characters
The only person person I know that doesn't have assistants in the art department is Kentaro Miura and he's a god so it's fine
