Both of them fight with swords for years as the definition of Kenshi and like how Mihawk seeks strength in general Roger either did that by fighting / wanting to fight admirals so his swordmanship gets stronger with that or you want have him doing something like coating his sword either that Zoro pulled out unconsciously
