Idk.
I see some people asking for temp bans when they are taking a break from the forum.
Maybe there's some automatic account deleting if an account doesn't have any activity for a while. Maybe the temp ban works around this.
Or maybe they ask for the ban just because if they aren't banned, they won't resist the break.
