Pre-TS One Piece.
Post-TS One Piece.
Regardless, One Piece (especially Post-TS) as a series is the defenition of both quantity and tediousness.
On quantity, sure Oda produces less arcs than MHA but that is because each one of his arcs is packed with as much as he can possibly shove into it, creating characters and scenarios that are wholly unnecessary and keeping characters that have served their purpose alive, just because he can.
On tediousness, I have five words.
Dressrosa, over one hundred chapters.
Oda elongates arcs for no reason. Gear 4 could have just launched that final attack to end the arc but no, we need Gatz the announcer and fodder gladiators be important for ten minutes and have Doflamingo look stupid (although to be fair, he might have suffered concussive brain damage).
WCI could have ended with BM going ape shite on her own crew thus allowing Straw Hats to escape. Instead, we get twenty chapters of Meme shouting “Wedding Cake”, everyone looking stupid and one of the worst major fights in the series.
Wano had all that Tama, Urashima and Holdem nonsense. Could have gone straight to Oden Castle but nope, Luffy’s got to one shot random fodder in utterly dull fights.
All this is not even mentioning a supposedly series spanning narrative that only has feckin
hints chucked in every couple of
years.
MHA has enough positives to be enjoyable in my opinion. I have it at around average to above average.
