Just imagine Luffy and Zoro vs Kaido 
Power-wise, it makes no sense i agree with that, but then again i also think it makes no sense for Law to directly jump into the Kaido battle when he was getting destroyed by Doffy, with Luffy also needing 3 fights at that level or higher to be a proper challenge to Kaido, but then again Law has hax, so in the end, it might depend on plot
And plotwise, i think the Onigashima attack will fail with the arc ending in a month instead of 2weeks. And if my prediction turns out to be right, with the Onigashima raid failing, the mid battle Zoro would get at that point could be used as a plot progression allowing a future potential partake in the Kaido battle(if it were to happen) to make more sense
In terms of build-up, Zoro so far had a build-up against Orochi in trying to avenge Yasu, maybe leading to him facing Kyoshiro again(if he isn't an ally). Historically though, it'd make more sense if Zoro faced King due to him usually facing the second strongest opponent in an arc.
On the other hand, Oda decided to give the only sword with the hype to scar Kaido to Zoro
With the magazine also hyping the possibility of the dragon cutting legend being revived
So it's definitely a possibility that Zoro might play a part in the Kaido battle. Luffy will still be the one defeating him anyway since it's something Oda himself hyped long before Wano, when thinking of ways Luffy could beat him

It will. Oda has already shown that he values the plot/narrative over established feats in the manga even in this arc, Zoro fainted from a stab that would normally otherwise not make him faint (Thriller Bark established his endurance capabilities) but had to in order for Oda to introduce and include Hiyori into the plot. There’s gonna be some PIS moments vs Kaido and Oda has already shown he doesn’t give a jack imo, so I won’t be surprised.

She was not fully introduced in the narrative when she initially appeared, in order to drive the plot forward, Oda had to have her develop a relationship with Zoro and reveal who she really is, Oda had to make Zoro pass out from an injury and then have her tend to his wound.
Same shit happened with Luffy, who was highlighted to have developed high poison resistance yet was somehow vulnerable to some poisonous fish and Oda painted the situation as dire and in order to drive the plot forward, he introduced Reiju to help him. Oda’s already done these sort of things where he favors plot and sacrifices established feats and stats of certain characters in the process. Zoro is not the only one who’s fallen victim to that.

I don't see why it doesn't make sense power wise for Zoro to be involved. He's not soloing Kaidou, he's gonna land a hit on him. With Enma mastered I see no reason why it's unbelievable he can play a role in a group effort. Zoro's AP should be through the roof. He doesn't need any progression aside from the training he already underwent.

I can see zoro slashing him but at the same time i dont believe itll effect him much during kaidos final fight
Imo zoro already will likely fight kyoshiro, king, and orochi in some type of way
I think at the end kaido will likely be left to law kid and luffy but that dont mean zoro cant hurt him by the end
