He is a very loyal character, to the marines. The difference is that Diez Drake isn’t self serving, he’s doing this for a cause. Apoo is doing it because he’s too weak and insignificant otherwise.

It only serves to fire up the beast that is Kid though. Oda said he always thought Kid instead of Law would be the most prominent supernova. So he has a big plan for him. Can't wait. I need his backstory too not just going crazy in the war.
