FYI: the jidaimono play below was once a 7-act play recompressed into 4 acts. This is often done for unusually long (i.e. more than 5 acts) plays.
The "3 long acts and a short 4th wrap up act" is based on nothing. Very often the last 5th one is not performed, this however doesn't change the pattern at all.
