For now, i would assume that players who have null reads on others are more towny than players actually giving alignment reads.

In any case, I too actually hope for some shenanigans to unfold during the voting stage.

I'm fairly confident that displaying null readers can suit a scum very well if they are not good enough. They'd usually tend to be less thorough but also pushy in their game analyses in order to expose themselves less and risk less errors/blunders, despite on the other hand there's a risk that behaviour is noticed. The less good players likely tend to do that naturally anyway.

This however probably does occur much less with expert players who in general tend to play as townish as feasible by attempting to replicate a townish behaviour in a more consistent sophisticated way that can more hardly be distinguished.

So it depends on the player and the specific situation fundamentally. A player that is at least decent would likely not get caught too easily.
