Nah. Some of them are really fucking dumb and useless. Most of so called swordsmanship is "made up shit" that has never been tested in a real battle. The reason why Hema is so good, is because it has been developed through centuries of wars and battles within Europe and Middle east due to the crusades, it's the ultimate swordsmanship.
It has been battle tested against; Moors, Arabs, Mongols, Hans, Turks etc.
i'm not exactly sure what the extent of the changes are since there are barely any online comparisons for it, but it's usually just some drawing corrections and undimming.

Katana is extremely beautiful for sure, but I would argue about beauty too, there are extremely beautiful longswords as well, especially when "beauty" is very subjective.
