What the actual fuck was that?

You know, letting the incredibly slow pacing aside, this was a legendary episode in terms of imagery, animation, directing and everything else.

It was almost movie quality. Never seen an episode of a weekly (!) anime series so well done.

Manga is so bad anime has to pick up where manga fails in. Just the truth. This chapter wasn’t remotely as deserving as the movie animation it received. There are more deserving chapters.

The anime staff clearly stated that one of the things that they felt would be nice to expand upon was the interactions between the strawhats.

I support that decision, as a large part of the charm of the series comes from the dynamic between the strawhats as the main cast.

Considering how little time the entire crew has had together in the manga, giving a few more scenes expanding and showcasing their dynamic is a welcome addition.
