Could it be possible that Kaido really never wanted a daughter but a son, that he considered Yamato as a male since her birth not because of the latter's gender preference nor Oden's influence?
Yeah that's the most predominant theory around and overall the most consistent with what is on table. There's no substantial reason Kaido would catalogue her as a male differently, which doesn't mean there is no possibility, Oda would need to be particularly creative however.
I think so,men are generally stronger than women! So if Kaido had a male son,he would have a stronger combatant than Yamato in his crew!Yamato might be the second strongest woman in the verse thought, weaker only than BM!
Most likely, he probably thought that Wano wouldn't take serious a female Shogun (Zoro's teacher comment about his own daughter). So he most likely wanted a son.

Then Kaido could have simply conceived another child! Kaido is a fucking pirate and he has a lot of woman in his crew that would be willing to be one of Kaido's wifes. Hell, he could have had an entire harem if he wanted so; what you're saying doesn't make sense logically, but again, considering Oda's absurd writing in Wano everything is possible.

No, this trope of the great warrior wanting a son but having a daughter has never been used before and is therefore unlikely, and we certainly have no precedent in this story of parents thinking less of their daughters because they believe girls to be weaker.

It is possible. He was disappointed that Momo was so weak even though he was Oden's son.
It is quite funny that Kaido's Daughter turned out to be so strong and want to be more of Oden than her own father
