I dunno man.
Each time I think of Zoro v King as Zoro's main contribution to the arc, it just makes it seem like Oda wasted 30 chapters on nothing.
Chapters 980 through 997 are pretty much just hammering the idea of Zoro facing Kaido, and chapters 1000 through 1010 are him actually facing Kaido.
Why do all that if the result is insignificant?
It's not like the scar matters. Oda doesn't even draw it anymore.
He even made it overlap with Oden's scar so you can barely tell Zoro scarred him.
Pretty much no one saw the result apart from Law.
It won't get Zoro a bounty increase either.
980 through 997 aren't a part of the "formula" either.
Which is why you guys got that part of the arc so wrong.
Why bother having 980 through 1010 if in the end.
All that was going to happen was the generic formula:
Sanji v Queen
Zoro v King
And Luffy v Kaido, where Luffy punches Kaido into the ground and the sun magically arrives.

This whole sun God, shitty ass advCoC, all these random asspulls have made Luffy one of the most pathetic anime characters in history.
At this point, Luffy makes Naruto look as great as Guts in comparison, that's how garbage Luffy is.
Zoro and Ryuma connection was foreshadowed since Thriller Bark, well technically since very beginning of manga because Zoro in EB literally looked like carbon copy of Ryuma from monsters where as Oda is pulling everything out of his ass for Luffy
At this point, Luffy makes Naruto look as great as Guts in comparison, that's how garbage Luffy is.

Altho whoever mentioned Chimney/Stuck in building moment is a VERY GOOD counter to this chapter against ZKK, even if are pro ZKK like me you gotta admit that.

One Piece is a steaming pile of trash. Who you calling One Piece fanboys, only thing worth a dime in One Piece is Zoro.

I don't understand some people.Zoro, despite having no real reason to mind you, fights 2 fucking Yonkos, manages to somewhat stop one of the strongest attacks we've seen in the series (the double Yonko attack I forget the name of), and managed to scar Kaido, something only one other person in the entire One Piece story has managed to do. Kaido is guy who has fought everybody, but he's only been scarred by two people.
Yet somehow, all of that still isn't enough for some people. He also needs to beat King & kill Kaido for some reason. Like why?

- swore to avenge someone who showed him kindness and was butchered in front of him
- gave up a supremely valuable treasure, his own sword granted in victory
- took Hakai on behalf of those who will go on and keep fighting
- opted to take double the pain he accumulated in order to get another chance to fight
It's ridiculous and disappointing to think this won't all pay off. Tbh I don't even see him wasting time with King so I don't feel like there's any greed in asking for him to kill Kaido.
