Ichigo and Ishida are considered rivals and Ichigo can clap him anyday in the week
Goku and Vegeta are also rivals and for the most parts Goku were stronger than Vegeta
Anyways to be rivals it's not neccessarily the same strength
But I do agree that Sanji is close in term of strength to Zoro
If Zoro is 100 then Sanji is 90-95

Goku is not stronger than Vegeta if they use the same transformation. If you read the DBS manga you will know Vegeta spirit strength on focusing training stronger than Goku.

So basically I do agree with your point that zoro and sanji are indeed rivals, but they aren't necessarily equals (see definition above, and see Lucci and Jabra for instance); feats already spoke for zoro that he is significantly stronger than Sanji

Sasuke’s decision to abandon the leaf was partly due to the fact that he realized how weak he was compared to Naruto. Naruto got stronger specifically to match Sasuke

Can you even identify one instance in all 1020 chapters where Zoro or Sanji even think about each other outside of a gag? Has anything Sanji ever said or done affected Zoro in anyway outside of a gag in 1020 chapters or Vice versa?

Why don’t people seem to recognize the very clear difference between this Zoro and Sanji thing and literally any actual rivalry in Manga. I mean outside of Agendas of course
