The only way to compete is that he somehow has CoC too and later ACoC, but I don't see that happening tbh

Kaido at other has chosen his hybrid mode, he must have chosen which is related to the awakening of his Zoan. It is in this last form that he will fight Luffy who will release a new form of Gear 4.

Yeah I think the awakening will be like a completely berserk, primal state, similarly to the jailer guards at Impel Down but a last resort kind of thing. Maybe it kicks in when you're on the verge of death as a latch ditch attempt to cling onto life and bounce back?
I've been waiting to see the side of Kaido that slaughtered Moria's crew and also why he did it, maybe this could be how and why?

Aside from that, I really don't understand why Oda has seemingly "forgotten" or dropped Zoan awakenings but if we don't see it at least with Kaido, if not the Calamities too, I'll be extremely disappointed and frustrated. I would have even just made the Hybrid form the awakening of the fruit and have it be even more impressive and statistically better than it is now at least, faster, stronger, insane regeneration, instinctive awareness/extremely heightened senses etc. Somehwat like Ultra Instinct from DBS even?

And then once Kaido has unleashed his Ultra Instinct/Awakening, we get Luffy unleashing his own awakening equivalent which is going Gear 5th, a combination of all previous gears and the special Ultra Instinct-like attack/mode he used vs Enel to form th new Gear 5th form, BAKA MAN and Luffy will then beat on Kaido similarly to this too:

Yamato cannot and will never dethrone Zoro and Sanji. These two are untouchable.

Anyways after Zoro and Luffy this is probably the BIGGEST, most BLATANT hint that a Straw hat is gonna get COC. Not through stares, not through a volume cover. It's not a coincidence that the next arc might be Elbalf which is gonna be Ussop-centric arc.
